Well with all of the millions of dollars spent promoting a good name for Chavez and Venezuela in the US, all the Venezuelan embassy and its propaganda arm, the Venezuelan Information Office, can show for it is giving out light bulbs. Seriously, is this what the revolution has resorted to, giving out light-bulbs in the name of solidarity? Talk about high profile media event, clearly this is providing the biggest bang for the buck investment by Chavez in his propaganda strategy.
The comical thing about it is the woman in the story is also receiving subsidized oil from Venezuela and now she is getting energy efficient light bulbs. Apparently Citgo realized that giving things away cheaply makes people be wasteful, so I guess this is Citgos way of cutting costs.
Ok, so I shouldn't totally bash the idea since I do support the use of CFL's, but come on, they cost like 10 bucks for a 6 pack at Wal-Mart. If these people were that concerned with saving money they would have switched by now.
